Conservation Himalaya (CoHi), is a non-governmental, non-profit-making and a non-political organization registered to the Social Welfare Council of the Government of Nepal under Social Council Act, 1992. It is focused on research, conservation, and education related to the biological diversity and natural resource management in all physiographic zones of Nepal. For the last few years, we have been conducting various research projects related to biodiversity inventory and conservation, climate change, sustainable natural resources management, etc. We have conducted several awareness campaigns among local communities about the importance of and conservation threats to biological diversity.

The mission of Conservation Himalaya is to protect and conserve the diversity of life in the Himalaya. This involves a range of activities aimed at conserving endangered species, protecting habitats, reducing the impact of human activities on the environment, promoting sustainable development practices, and educating the public about the importance of biodiversity.
Objectives
Our primary objectives include the following:
- Protecting natural habitats in different physiographic zones of the Nepal Himalaya.
- Preventing habitat destruction such as deforestation, pollution, and climate change, which can have a devastating impact on biodiversity.
- Protecting endangered species and preventing their extinction.
- Promoting sustainable use of resources by collaborative works with local communities and governments to ensure that these resources are not depleted and remain available for future generations.
- Conducting research and monitoring ecosystems and species to understand their ecology, behavior, and conservation needs.
- Education and awareness campaigns to raise public awareness about the importance of biodiversity and the need to protect it, through educational programs, public events, and media campaigns.
